Junior Rookies
- Ages of swimmers in this group range from age 5 through 10
- Swimmers should be able to perform Freestyle and Backstroke.
- Group goals: Continue to develop Freestyle and Backstroke technique and develop correct technique for Breaststroke and
Butterfly, improve starting techniques, and introduce turning techniques
Junior I
- Ages of swimmers in this group range from 7 through 10
- Swimmers should be able to swim repetitive laps of the pool
- Group goals: Develop greater strength in the water and improve Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly techniques,
improve starting turning techniques
Junior II
- Minimum Age – Turning 8 prior to the season’s state meet
- Maximum Age – 10
- Swimmers should know all four competitive strokes/starts/turns
- Swimmers should be capable of handling longer workouts than the Junior I workouts
Bronze
- Minimum Age – Turning 11 prior to the season’s state meet
- Maximum Age – 8th Grade
- Swimmers should know all four competitive strokes/starts/turns
- Swimmers should be capable of handling workouts of up to 3,000 yards per session
Silver
- Minimum Age – Turning 11 prior to the season’s state meet
- Maximum Age - 12
- Capable of surpassing the Bronze practice group’s workload
- Swimmers should be capable of handling workouts of up to 4,500 yards per session
- Knowledge of sets, drills, intervals
Gold
- Minimum Ages – Turning 13 prior to the season’s state meet
- Membership includes middle school and high school age athletes
- Practices are designed to help swimmers swim faster by improving strength and conditioning in the water as well as improving
technique for all strokes, turns and starts
- Swimmers wishing to participate with this group will need to contact a CRAA coach for guidance for correct practice group
selection
Senior
- Minimum Age – Turning 13 prior to the season’s state meet
- Membership includes middle school and high school age athletes as well as college age swimmers who are training with CRAA
during their off-seasons
- Practices continue to be designed to help swimmers swim faster by improving strength and conditioning in the water as well as
improving technique for all strokes, turns and starts. However, the Senior practices are more intense than the Gold practice.
- Swimmers wishing to participate with this group will need to contact a CRAA coach for guidance for correct practice group
