Red - There is no Red group during the summer season. Red group will begin again in the Fall.
- Ages of swimmers in this group range from age 4 through 9
- Swimmers must be able to swim in deep water without assistance
- Swimmers should also able to swim with their face in the water and swim on their back
- Group goals: Improve Freestyle and Backstroke technique and introduce Butterfly and Breaststroke as well as starts
Black
- Ages of swimmers in this group range from age 6 through 12
- Swimmers should be able to perform Freestyle and Backstroke.
- Group goals: Continue to develop Freestyle and Backstroke technique and develop correct technique for Breaststroke and
Butterfly, improve starting techniques, and introduce turning techniques
Junior I
- Ages of swimmers in this group range from 7 through 12
- Swimmers should be able to swim repetitive laps of the pool
- Group goals: Develop greater strength in the water and improve Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly techniques,
improve starting turning techniques
Junior II
- Minimum Age – Turning 8 prior to the season’s state meet
- Maximum Age – 12
- Swimmers should know all four competitive strokes/starts/turns
- Swimmers should be capable of handling longer workouts than the Junior I workouts
Bronze
- Minimum Age – Turning 11 prior to the season’s state meet
- Maximum Age – 8th Grade
- Swimmers should know all four competitive strokes/starts/turns
- Swimmers should be capable of handling workouts of up to 3,000 yards per session
Silver
- Minimum Age – Turning 11 prior to the season’s state meet
- Capable of surpassing the Bronze practice group’s workload
- Swimmers should be capable of handling workouts of up to 4,500 yards per session
- Knowledge of sets, drills, intervals
Gold
- Minimum Ages – The gold group consist mostly of swimmers who are in high school. There are a few seventh and eighth grade
students who are invited at the coach's discretion to participate with this group. These middle school students must demonstrate to the coaches that they are ready to handle Gold practices and they have the maturity to work with high school swimmers.
- Swimmers must be capable of handling workouts of up to 6,000 yards per session
- Swimmers should have consistent practice attendance
National
- Swimmers must have achieved Toyota Grand Prix or Junior National qualifying times
- Swimmers should maintain practice attendance of 90 % or greater
- Swimmers should attend appropriate meets set by coach
