| 2009 CRAA Fall Assessments For Swimmers Interested in Joining CRAA |
On Friday, September 11, Saturday, September 12, Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September
19, CRAA will hold Assessments for swimmers ages 5 – 13 years old who are interested in joining the
team this fall. Swimmers will be evaluated by the CRAA coaching staff and placed in either the Junior
Rookies (ages 5-10), Junior I (ages 6-10), Junior II (8-10) or Bronze (ages 10 – 14) practice groups.
To participate in the assessment, swimmers must be deep water safe and be able to swim on their
stomach and back without help.
The Junior Rookies and Junior I practice groups are divided into sub-groups of 8 -15 swimmers. The
sub-groups will practice separately on Monday and Wednesday evenings or Tuesday and Thursday
evenings. These sub-groups practice together as one group on Friday and Sunday evenings for the
Junior I swimmers and on Sunday evenings for the Junior Rookies swimmers.
Breaking the younger swimmers’ practice groups into sub-groups allows the coaching staff to
concentrate on specific skills while giving each swimmer more individualized attention. Additionally,
bringing the sub-groups together for practice will allow each group to have longer practices to gain
greater endurance and will create more team unity.
Swimmers are invited to attend the assessment for the competitive team at no cost. During the
assessments, parents will be able to learn more about the CRAA competitive team: Practice times,
cost, competitions, and other information about the club. At the same time, swimmers will be evaluated
in the water by Coach Wendy Bielefeld to determine which practice group and sub-group is best suited
for their swimming development.

email. If the time you have chosen is no longer available, another time will be offered.
